THE RUNARIA PAPERS

Everything below — every rate, price and probability — is pulled from the same configuration the game runs on. The docs cannot drift from the code.

OVERVIEW

Runaria is a browser skilling MMO on Solana. You play a townsfolk of the vale: chop, mine, fish, forage, farm, ranch, cook and fight across five hand-built zones, levelling eight skills toward 99. Everything you gather sells for gold — and gold, together with the rune shards that shake loose from your work, converts into $RUNE, the game's on-chain token.

THE LOOP

Every session is the same honest cycle:

STEPWHAT HAPPENSWHERE
1 · WorkPress E on nodes, plots, pens and foes. Loot fills your 24-slot satchel; XP accrues per action. All five zones
2 · Bank or riskBanked goods are safe forever. Carried goods drop where you die in the Scorch. The Vault, the Hearth
3 · SellEvery item has a fixed gold price. Cooked food and quest hand-ins pay a premium.Market Row, quest board
4 · ForgeRune shards (9% per gather, 25% per kill) forge 10→1 rune = 25 $RUNE. Gold trades at 100:1.The Rune Altar
5 · Queue payoutClaimable balance queues to your connected Phantom wallet, settled on-chain at launch. The Rune Altar

EARNING ALGORITHM

Three formulas govern everything.

1 · Experience. XP to advance from a level grows geometrically:

xp_to_advance(level) = ⌊60 × 1.35^(level−1)⌋

2 · Shards. Every successful action rolls once. There is no pity timer and no daily cap — the roll is flat:

P(shard | gather) = 0.09  ·  P(shard | kill) = 0.25
rune = 10 shards  ·  1 rune = 25 $RUNE

3 · Expected $RUNE per hour. For any node, your hourly rate is cycles per hour times the value of a cycle — gold converts at 100:1, shards convert through runes:

cycles/hr = 3,600,000 / (harvest_ms × tool_mult + respawn_ms)
$RUNE/hr = cycles/hr × ( avg_yield × price / 100 + 0.09 × 25 / 10 )

The full evaluation for every node in the game is below. Higher-level nodes dominate — that is deliberate: levels are the real currency of Runaria.

Mob hunting stacks on top: each kill pays gold plus a 25% shard roll. Cowling Mages in the Scorch are the highest single-kill value in the game (80160g + 140 combat XP).

RUNES & PAYOUTS

The Rune Altar in the Hearth is the only place value leaves the game. It does three things:

ACTIONRATEREQUIRES
Forge shards10 shards → 25 $RUNEShards (wallet needed to earn them)
Exchange gold100 gold → 1 $RUNE (min 500g)Connected wallet
Request payoutFull claimable balance → payout queueConnected wallet

Payout mechanics: requesting a payout binds your claimable balance to your wallet address in a queued entry. Queued entries are settled on-chain in $RUNE when the token launches — order of settlement follows order of request. Your queue survives in your save and is visible at the altar. One wallet per settler; switching accounts in Phantom re-binds future queues to the new address, never past ones.

DEMO MODE

No wallet, no problem — the whole game is playable free. But demo mode has two hard walls: every skill caps at level 3, and rune shards crumble instead of dropping — you will never accrue $RUNE on demo. Connect Phantom at any time and both walls lift instantly; nothing you did on demo is lost.

TOOLS & ROI

Tools are the main gold sink. Faster harvests mean more cycles per hour — the payback column estimates how long the upgrade takes to pay for itself on that skill's best unlocked node.

The design is a bet, not a tax: the Scorch holds the top of every yield table, so the question is always the same — bank first and walk back, or carry on and push your luck.

Anti-abusePayouts are wallet-bound and queued in order. Demo mode earns nothing. Per-wallet settlement caps may apply at launch to protect the treasury.

The honest version: the game pays out of a treasury, the treasury is funded by the token, and the queue is public in your save. Play, stack the queue, and settlement begins the day $RUNE is live.
